40 members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate Team traveled to Charlotte over the weekend of March 4th thru 5th to compete in the annual Tarheel Forensic League State Championship hosted by Myers Park High School. CA finished the weekend as the runner up in overall sweepstakes and for the second year in a row was the champion in Speech sweepstakes. The team's performance was led by individual state championships in four events: Aida Lo in Declamation, Andrew Lim in Dramatic Interpretation, Isabel Chang & Samantha Perez in Duo Interpretation, and Rehan Mahmood & Yul Choi in Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate. The following individual students were recognized for their performances in their respective events:
