![]() 10 members of the Cary Academy Speech & Debate team, the most ever, traveled to Salt Lake City Utah the week of June 12th-18th to compete in the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament. Jack Stafford and Divya Vijayakumar both advanced out of prelims in their main competition events with Jack reaching the semifinals of the House in Congressional Debate, and Divya reaching the octafinals of International Extemporaneous Speaking. In supplemental events Emma Ehrhardt reached the quarterfinals of Expository Speaking, and Divya Vijayakumar reached Round 10 of Extemporaneous Debate. Other students participating were Grace Jin who was one ballot away from clearing in Lincoln Douglas Debate, Rachel George and Davis Braswell in Extemporaneous Speaking, Alisha Abhayakumar in Informative Speaking, Ben Lipson in House of Congressional Debate, Evan Ehrhardt in Duo Interpretation, and Grey Spector in World Schools Debate. |
