Three members of the CA debate team competed virtually in the Steven Davis Invitational hosted by Ardrey Kell High School in Charlotte on Saturday February 27th. Allie Chandler was crowned the champion of Lincoln Douglas Debate after advancing to the final round with a 2-1 victory in the semifinal round which she broke to after finishing the preliminary rounds as the 3rd seed and the top speaker. In the final round she was victorious on a 2-1 decision placing first in a field of 32 debaters respresenting 3 states.
54 membes of the CA Speech and Debate team competed virtually in the annual JV and Novice Championship hosted by the Dogwood Speech and Debate League. The team was crowned the overall sweepstakes champions with strong performances in both the speech and debate categories. After an intense day of competition CA emerged with a qualifier to the National Tournament in Congress for the tenth straight year. Jay Sagrolikar placed 2nd in the Senate qualifying to Nationals for the thrid straight year. Oliver Moore was ther fourth alternate to Nationals in the House after advancing to finals and placing 10th.
69 members of the Cary Aacdemy Speech and Debate team competed virtually in the last Dogwood tournament of the season on Saturday Febraury 20th. CA was once again the overall sweepstakes champions winning all six Dogwood tournaments of the season for on the second time in program history. For the sixth year in a row CA was named the overall league champions winning the Carole Hamilton Award. CA had five students recognized as the Points Race Champions in their respective events based on their performances at Dogwood tournaments throughout the season. Those students were:

Several students reached the eimination rounds of their respective events including Jay Sagrolikar advanced to the octafinal round of Congressional Debate after placing 2nd in his preliminary chamber. Bryan Fang reached the octafinal round of Junior Varsity Lincoln Douglas Debate. The team of Nash Brown and Evan Chang reached the double octafinal round of Junior Varsity Public Forum Debate, Five Novice Public Forum Debate teams reached with the elimination rounds with the team of Angelika Wang and Aditi Ahuja reaching the octafinal round, the teams of Ella Zhang and Alexa Lattanze and Ellie Alvarez and Anya Jain reaching the double ocatfinal round, and the teams of Maddie Alvarez and Adam Levin and Eric Xie and Ayan Jung reaching the triple octafinal round. Alex Lim reached the octafinal round of Humurous Interpretation and Sonia Shah reached the double octafinal round of Original Oratory.
5 members of the CA Speech and Debate team competed in the Liberty Bell Classic hosted virtually by the University of Pennsylvania the weekend of February 13-14. The JV Public Forum team of Price Taylor and William Su were crowned the champions of JV Public Forum Debate while William was recognized as the Top Speaker and Price the 2nd Place Speaker. Katherine He reached the final round of Informative Speaking placing 6th and reached the quarterfinals of Original Oratory.
84 members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate team competed in the fifth Dogwood League tournament of the year hosted online on Saturday February 6th.
