The following students placed according to the official results: Nyal Patel-1st, JV LD Andrew Glosson-2nd, JV LD (tie) Varun Kasula-2nd, JV LD (tie) Alec Fischbein-4th, JV LD Casey Miles and Ethan Kerns-3rd, JV PF Pranav Nair and Neel Rao-5th, JV PF Bethany Martin-3rd, Novice LD Patrick Mulqueen-4th, Novice LD Laura Cabana-5th, Novice LD Hannah Chow-6th, Novice LD Miles Lambert and Daniel Kahn-5th, Novice PF Alexis Williams-2nd, Varsity LD Pujith Adusumilli-3rd, Varsity LD Carolyn Calder-4th, Varsity LD Abby Getz and Elliot Kuan-3rd Place, Varsity PF Austin Lawrence and Jonathan Nunez-5th Place, Varsity PF Varsity LD was the only division where the entire fourth round took place. Had those results counted CA would have placed 2nd (Alexis Williams), 3rd (Puj Adusumilli), 4th (Carrie Schellenberger), 5th (Patrick Lambert), and 7th (Carolyn Calder). In Novice LD only some of the fourth round was completed, but based on those partial results had the round counted Cary Academy would have closed out Novice LD placing 1st and 2nd, as well as possibly 3rd. Bethany Martin and Laura Cabana were the only two students in the tournament to achieve perfect 4-0 records, and Patrick Mulqueen was 3-0 through the first 3 rounds but his fourth round result was not reported. In addition to the students who placed Alex Melamed and Grey Specter had 3-1 records and therefore would have been in contention to place. In JV PF, an error in filling out a ballot caused a round to be mis-recorded and the team of Silvia Sotolongo and Cohen Dworsky would have placed in JV PF had that been recorded correctly. In Novice PF, the team of Daniel Kahn and Miles Lambert were 4-0 which would have ensured them of placing in the top 5 had all four rounds been completed. The teams of Sarah Norman and Yannet Daniel and Ava Rosenbaum and Sindhoor Ambati achieved records of 3-1 and would have been in a strong position to place had all the rounds been completed as well. |
