Six members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia over the the weekend of January 24-26 to compete in the Barkley Forum for High Schools hosted by Emory University. Saajan Patel and Jay Sagrolikar both advanced to the semifinals of Congressional Debate after finishing first and third in their prelim chambers respectively placing them in the 54 of 152 competitors.
43 members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate team traveled across the triangle over the Martin Luther King holiday weekend to compete against students from 77 different schools representing 19 states in the Cavalier Invitational hosted by Durham Academy. The team had an oustanding showing with many students being recognized for reaching the elimination rounds in their respective events. The following students recieved recognition for their performance:

The team had an oustanding showing at this highly competitive tournament with the following students recieving recognition for their performances:
