For the second year in a row Cary Academy was the sweepstakes champion of the Tarheel East District Congress and advanced two Congressional debaters to the National Tournament. Jack Stafford qualified for nationals for the second time as the champion of House 3, and Ben Lipson qualified as the champion of House 2. Anjali Velu and Grey Spector placed second and were the first alternates to nationals in House 2 and House 3 respectively. Jonathan Segal and Georgia Dietz were the second alternates to nationals after placing third in House 1 and fourth in the Senate. Dylan Lamphier was fourth in House 1, and RJ Jain and Grace Siedel were sixth place in the Senate and House 1 respectively. With its victory at the District Congress CA swept all four sweepstakes awards at the District tournament for the first time in program history. This is the fifth straight year in which a Cary Academy student has qualified for the National Student Congress.
