28 members of the CA Speech and Debate team traveled to Fairfax Virginia over the weekend of December 3rd and 4th to compete in the Patriot Games Classic hosted by George Mason University. The tournament took place in person for the first time in three years and Cary Academy had its best ever showing at this tournament placing 3rd in overall sweepstakes. The teams overall standing was bolstered by strong performances in both the speech and debate events. In speech CA had 9 entries reach the elimination rounds, four of which advanced all the way to finals. On the debate side there were 6 LDers who broke matching the largest number ever, as well as 3 Public Forum teams.
