40 members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate team traveled to Apex Friendship High School on Saturday February 25th to compete in the 6th and final Dogwood Speech and Debate tournament of the year. Cary Academy ended the season as the top peforming school in the Dogwood League winning the Carole Hamilton School of Excellence Award for the eight year in a row. CA was also recognized as the inagural winner of the first Founder's Award which recognizes a school's cumaltive performance at Dogwood tournaments from year to year. Several CA students were also recognized as the winners of the Points Race based on their cumlative performance at Dogwood tournaments this year. Those students were:
Avani Bhat- Declamation and Novice Declamation Kajal Paramar & Avani Bhat- Novice Duo Interpretation Kainda Nzinga- Novice Extemporaneous Speaking Akash Mani-Novice Congressional Debate Rehan Mahmood-Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate CA also had the following 21 students qualify to compete at NCFL Grand Nationals based on their performance at Dogwood tournaments throughout the year:
