21 members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate team traveled to Raeford, North Carolina on Saturday November 7th to compete in the Sand Hoke Early College tournament. CA turned in a strong performance placing as the runners up in sweepstakes at this tournament for the fifth year in a row. The teams effort was lead by Eve Taylor's victory in Dramatic Interpretation where she was joined in the top 6 by Griffin Cece (4th) and Pauline Pauwels (6th). Rachel George was 2nd in Extemp and Julia Gong was 3rd in Oratory. Jonathan Segal was the champion in Varsity Congress, as well as the Best PO. Suki Bristol was the runner up in JV Congress, Christian Sodano was 4th, and Claudia Zimmerman was the Best PO. In Novice Lincoln Douglas Debate Milen Patel was 2nd, Viraj Shah was 4th, Lily Levin was 5th, and Krishan Guzzo 7th.
