Cary Academy had its most successful showing in its history at the 2015 National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament hosted in Dallas Texas the week of June 14-19. CA won its first ever school award at the national tournament when it was named a Debate School of Honor for 2015. This places CA in the top 40 Debate schools in the nation at the National Tournament. The team qualified for this award on the strength of the performance of senior Laura Cabana who placed 14th out of 261 competitors in Lincoln Douglas Debate, and junior Nate Jones and sophomore Jack Stafford who advanced to the semifinals of the Senate and House of Congressional Debate respectively. On the speech side junior Bharat Modi reached the Octafinal round of United States Extemporaneous Speaking placing him in the top 60 of 246 competitors. CA was also represented at Nationals by junior Emma Ehrhardt in Original Oratory and sophomores Grace Jin and Divya Vijayakumar in World Schools Debate.
