CA turned in a strong showing at the Laird Lewis Invitational hosted by Myers Park High School placing 5th overall out of 64 schools from 16 different states. In Varsity LD four Cary Academy students reached the elimination rounds, the most of any school. Puj Adusumilli reached the semifinal round, and Hannah Hubbard, Andrew Glosson, and Carolyn Calder all reached octafinals. In Novice LD, three Cary Academy students reached the elimination rounds (tied for the most of any school) with Laura Cabana, Bailey Medley, and Sneha Advani all reaching the octafinal round. In Public Forum Jonathan Nunez and Daisy Gray reached the double octafinal round in varsity, Neil Lewis and Sam Title reached the triple octafinal in varsity, and Ava Rosenbaum and Miles Lambert reached the octafinal round in novice. In Extemporaneous Speaking CA had three students break, the most of any school, with Matt Owens, Bill Peebles, and Orlin Velev reaching the semifinal round. Bill Peebles also was a quarter finalist in Impromptu Speaking, and Archita Chandra was a quarterfinalist in both Original Oratory and Impromptu Speaking. In Student Congress Ted Wachter won his prelim chamber and placed 8th overall in varsity. In Novice Congress Nate Jones was 3rd overall, and Henry Bristol 6th. Henry also won his prelim chamber.
