Four members of the Class of 2015 traveled to Florida on the weekend of September 19-22 to compete in the first Fear of Missing Out Invitational hosted by the Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Nyal Patel, Varun Kasula, Laura Cabana, and Taylor Morin represented CA in outstanding fashion all going undefeated and claiming the top four places in the tournament as well as the top 4 speaker awards. There were 3 states represented at this inaugural event, and the final placements were determined by preliminary seeding with Patel placing 1st, Kasula 2nd, Cabana 3rd, and Morin 4th. In place of a semifinal round two exhibition debates were held between teammates with Patel and Morin splitting the judges in their round, and Cabana defeating Kasula 2-0 in their' round. Afterwards the group enjoyed some fun in the sun by spending Sunday in Orlando in what we hope will become a tradition of a senior trip for our debaters as they begin their last year in the program.
