32 members of the Cary Academy Speech and Debate team traveled to Beaufort the weekend of October 1st to compete in the first Dogwood Speech & Debate League tournament of the season at East Carteret High School. The team emerged as overall sweepstakes champion with outstanding performances in a wide variety of events contributing to the overall team victory. The following individual students were recognized in their respective events:
